welcoming the community since 1919

Understanding the old-fashioned value in coming together.

For over 100 years, the Swanzey Community House has opened its doors to local life. The building and land was donated to the community in 1919 as a memorial to the local sons of the Great War. Since then, it’s doors have been opened for every type of life-event. From training classes for your new puppy to weddings and graduation parties. Memorial services to extended family dinners.

The first floor is divided into two rooms, a large meeting space, capable of accommodating up to 100 people, and a smaller attached chapel. The entry-level floor has a full kitchen and bathrooms, and two large rooms. Whichever floor you are on, we have the perfect space for you to come together.

Weddings

It’s the simple things. The sound of the river outside. The oldest covered bridge in the State of New Hampshire just down the street. It’s a return to a simpler time, celebrating small, quaint and charming.

We are happy to help set up a time to explore the space and property. With a vetted list of florists and caterers that have worked here, we are confident we can help make your special day truly magical.

Parties and Celebrations

Keep the chaos out of your home and put your energy into the party! Set up long tables right down the center of the hall and gather your whole family around. Office work parties, retirement parties, engagement parties. Parties that just simply celebrate all of your friends gathered in one room. We have the space, fill it with your ideas and get the party started.

“It was so nice to have my whole family gathered around one long table. And I went home to a clean house! The Community House took the stress out of my holidays. My brother asked why we hadn’t thought of it sooner!”

— Tiffany M. | Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Family Dinner
